Born for Greatness

Born for Greatness is a social initiative launched by Together in life under the patronage of the Cambodia-Israel Chamber of Commerce, based on the belief that everyone has greatness within them, regardless of their background, social status, or origin.

The initiative was designed as a tool to support worthy causes while carrying a broader message: the circumstances people are born into should not determine what they are capable of becoming.

Born for Greatness works with organizations supporting children and communities that face difficult circumstances and limited opportunities. Depending on the cause, the initiative can bring together education, creativity, mentorship, events, fundraising, partnerships, and direct community involvement.

Its purpose is twofold. It supports organizations doing meaningful work on the ground, while also giving the people they serve opportunities to explore their abilities, express themselves, develop confidence, and see possibilities beyond the circumstances surrounding them.

The first Born for Greatness program brought together around 200 at-risk children from five Cambodian NGOs and invited them to express what greatness meant to them through drawing. Selected children were later connected with professional artists, who developed artworks inspired by their ideas. The resulting works were exhibited and auctioned to raise funds for Tiny Toones, a school for underprivileged children in Phnom Penh.

Talent and potential are not related to income, family circumstances, or social status. Access to the right environment often is.

Children growing up in difficult circumstances may have fewer opportunities to discover what they are good at, develop confidence, meet people who believe in them, or simply imagine a different future for themselves.

Born for Greatness was created around the belief that these children should have the opportunity to dare.

Impact requires more than telling someone that they have potential. It requires creating situations where they can discover it for themselves: through learning, creativity, mentorship, achievement, responsibility, exposure to new possibilities, and the support of people willing to invest time and resources in them.

Tiny Toones was the initiative's first focus. Its work provides at-risk young people with a safe environment where they can learn, develop their creativity and confidence, and receive educational and personal support.

Born for Greatness is intended to remain broader than any single beneficiary or activity. Different causes may require different actions, but the principle remains the same: everyone is born with potential, and with the right environment, support, and opportunity, that potential can unlock a better life for them, their families, and their environment.
